A Camping We Will Go

Today’s the day! Even though it is overcast and dull here in Barrie this morning, we will head out to Beausoleil Island, Tonch South after breakfast. This will be our first trip of the year so we will probably be making some adjustments as the season progresses.

Our first campsite choice was Thumb Point because it has a dock at which to unload our equipment and supplies. Unfortunately, it will not be open until June 19, so we will be going to Tonch South, just a kilometre south of where MY Jane and I got married coming up to two years ago.
Jane has to come back to Barrie on Wednesday evening because she is taking Ted to an appointment Thursday morning. Our across-the-street neighbour, Jenny, has kindly offered to check in on Minñie in the meantime.
Because of the recent difficulty with the battery on Shenanigans going dead, I began to think of what we would do if that happened while over at the island. With no one around, it would present a bit of a quandary. In keeping with that theory of “redundancy” and remembering “Daves Law” named after my friend who blogged about it in the last couple of days, I bought a backup power pack that is light and compact (8 1/2″ x 5″ x 5″ and 2.5 lbs).
This thing has enough power to boost, motorcycles, boats, and vehicles with single battery systems. Also good for recharging cell phones and tablets. I feel a lot better having this with us.
