Yesterday the technician from Affordable Comfort came to try to resolve the fireplace pilot light issue. Right away he discovered some water pooling under the fan switch.
I decided to try to figure out where the water came from. I suspected a rubber sleeve installed by plumbers back in April of 2024. However when I checked (after taking the access panel off the fireplace) I determined that the leak was not from there.
Further examination revealed a very rusty vent.
Affordable Comfort is coming back next week to inspect and make a recommendation. Right now I think itās from condensation.
