We checked out of our hotel after a free continental breakfast and headed to Pools 2000 to meet up with Bob Drew, the owner, who invited us to pick up a gift for Max.

He has an amazing collection of rocks of all kinds and gave me a stunning assortment for Max.
After that it was onward to the pretty town of Almonte where we did some sightseeing and window shopping.

We then headed over to Carp to have lunch at the Cheshire Cat and Pub, renowned for its Yorkshire Pudding and roast beef. It was delicious!
After lunch we toured the interesting Diefenbunker facility which was constructed in the fifties during the Cold War.

Our plan was to stay overnight in Renfrew but there was no accommodation available, so we had to drive to Petawawa where we found a place for the night.
A busy but interesting day.
