Day Trip

The plan today was to drive to the town of Markdale Ontario, home of Chapman’s ice cream. We were hoping to get a look at the dozens of flavours they are known for. Turns out there is not a retail outlet there, though you could get their brand at a variety or grocery store.

I brought along my drone with the idea of getting some aerial footage of a couple of waterfalls in the vicinity.

We first went to Eugenia Falls, but there were too many trees to get over the actual falls. I did have some help, though, from some chickens that hopped up on the picnic bench to see what I was doing. Instead, I took some photos and videos from ground level.

Then we went for lunch at Maryanne’s restaurant in Markdale. It was delicious.

After lunch we headed for Higgs Falls with the same idea but, once again, there were too many hazardous trees for safe drone flying. I did, however, get some nice videos and photos.

Of course, Jane insisted on dipping her toes into the creek. It was very cold.

All in all, a nice way to spend our Saturday.
