Yesterday Prime Minister Carney made a speech outlining Canada’s position with respect to the US tariff attack on our economy.
He made it clear that the relationship between Canada and the US, one of cooperation and reliance, is over. The US is no longer reliable and Canada will be looking for partnerships elsewhere.
One notable point is that when Trump issued a statement on today’s brief phone call that was had with Carney, Trump made no mention of a 51st state nor did he refer to Carney as Governor.
I am impressed with the message and tone of Prime Minister Carney’s message to the US.
