We were looking at surrounding a couple of small cedars in the backyard with river stones, but after some deliberation, we decided to just remove them.
The top photo, with Roxana waving a sparkler, shows the trees in question just above the arrow.
The lower photo shows the result after their removal and the gathering up of all the river stone.
We think it widens the yard and plan on removing the planter at some point to allow for another scalloped flowerbed. This new direction is all because of the maple tree removal several weeks ago which is now allowing more sun into this area.
