Minnie the Hunter

Last night, shortly before we retired for the evening, MY Jane heard a commotion at Minnie’s window. she jumped up and got a flashlight just in time to find Minnie coming back in carrying something wriggling in her mouth.

Minnie jumped to the floor still holding on to it. At first we thought it was a mouse, but when Jane finally got Minnie to let it go, we realized it was a baby rabbit.
Where she let it go was quite fortuitous because it was a very small area at the foot of the stairs, so we simply closed the door until I could retrieve a box in which to put it.
I found a suitable box in the garage, but when I came back, I couldn’t see the rabbit. Turns out it was hiding under the spinning wheel.
I got it safely into the box and took it back outside where I let it go, unharmed, in the back yard. It quickly hopped away into the vegetation.
Ah Minnie. Ever the hunter.
