Yesterday morning, we checked out of Les Suites and took a taxi to he train station, headed for home. On the way there, we talked with the taxi driver about all the activity around and how busy we suspected it would be on Canada Day, celebrating 150 years as a country.
He mentioned that the hotel we just checked out of would probably be charging about $800 a night during that time. He lamented the fact that taxi drivers could not hike their fares like this. If Canada Day is anywhere near as busy as this past Victoria Day weekend, it will be like a zoo.
Once again, we took advantage of the lounge at the Ottawa train station. It sure is nice to travel this way.
Our original plan had been to wait in Union Station for an hour and a half to connect with a GO train direct to Barrie, but we were anxious to get home, so we caught an earlier train just to Aurora and switched to a bus the rest of the way.
We were very please to see some colour in our front yard flower bed.
