Good People

Yesterday, on the way home from Tim Hortons with a coffee, I saw something that reminded me there are still good people in the world.

As soon as I turned on to the main road outside the coffee place, I noticed a small red car just up the way with its four way flashers blinking. And traffic coming from the opposite direction had come to a complete standstill.
It was then that I realized the driver of the small red car was the young man, maybe in his mid twenties, who was helping an old guy with a cane cross the road.
Once he got the old gentleman safely across, he sprinted back to his car and with a friendly wave, went on his way. Traffic flow resumed. There were no honking horns or rude gestures. It was just a peaceful incident that reinforced my positive vibes about living in Barrie.
It still has that small town charm, but has all the conveniences of a big city. Kudos to that young man who went out of his way to help the old fellow!
