Yesterday, with the weather network calling for snow later in the day, I decided to take down the outside Christmas lights. Although it was a bit chilly (-5C), it turned out to be very easy to do and within 1/2 an hour I had everything down and stowed in bins.
I’m glad I did it before all the extension cords got covered with ice and snow. We still have the inside decorations in place as well as both Christmas trees and we will leave them up for a few more days, but they will be taken down before we head off to Florida in mid January.
The ground is covered with a light snowfall this morning and my snowplow contractor has already plowed out our driveway and shovelled the walkway. This is the first time this winter that’s been done. It’s the first time this winter it was needed.
Snowmobilers and skiers will be happy with the latest weather. Even though I don’t do winter sports, I am happy to see the white stuff. Fortunately, our family visitors all got back home before the roads became treacherous. That’s a good thing. That makes me very happy too!
