Yesterday evening Jane took Chris to dinner at the North here in Barrie. Both of them had a great time despite the fact that, when they got home and I asked how it was, both of them pretended it was an awful evening. Of course, this was Chris’ scheme. And of course, Jane went along with it.
But they couldn’t keep up the act for long and then told me a true accounting of what a wonderful time they both had.
This is something that Jane had been wanting to do for awhile. She misses that day to day connection that she had with both Chris and Steven. This was also an opportunity for her to do a little something special for Chris before he gets married next June.
Before they left for dinner, we played several rounds of darts. We had a lot of laughs taking turns coming up with silly game rules like closing one eye and standing on one foot, throwing left handed, throwing while standing with our back to the board. Needless to say, there were a few shots that landed nowhere near the dart board, but there was no shortage of fun.
