MY Jane and I were delighted to host Rita & Dennis who came up from Toronto yesterday afternoon and stayed for dinner. We had a great time, there was lots of conversation and a lot of laughs. The afternoon and evening just flew by.
I BBQd two chickens on the rotisserie and Jane made asparagus salad, crunchy noodle salad and watermelon salsa. For dessert we had peach and strawberry cobbler. Delicious. Dennis even had a second helping of dessert, it was that good!
Although Rita does not own a cat herself (she has a cute Schnauzer named Eliot), our Minnie responds to Rita better than to Jane and me. I told Rita she must be a cat whisperer. As soon as Rita calls out to Minnie, she goes right over. Remarkable!
Jane and Rita have been friends since elementary school, over 50 years!
It was a great time!
