MY Jane and I got home about 1PM yesterday and unloaded all of our gear, both of us happy at our first taste of tent camping on Beausoleil Island. It is a bit early in the year weather wise, but we were warm enough at night.
Steven and Chris had wanted to join us at Tonch North, but the weather forecast was not promising and we were not stocked up for an extra two days, so we took a rain check on that idea. They’ll be staying at the house with us for the weekend. They both wanted to come up because it’s Fathers Day weekend. I’m very touched that both guys would take time out of their busy schedule to do this because of me. I may not be their biological father, but I have to say I am extremely proud of both of them and what they are doing with their lives. And I am beyond happy that they are in my life and they have allowed me into theirs.
Despite the rain check on the island camping idea, both guys were determined to sleep in Steves tent, so they set it up in our back yard. It’s one of those tents you throw up in the air and it comes down all opened up and ready to peg down. Impressive. We got it for Steve last Christmas.
Today, after breakfast, we are going to take a trip up to Brandys Island marina where the dinghy is tied up. We want to show the guys where Brandys is located and also take a dinghy ride so they will know the way in and out of the marina.
It’s shaping up to be a good weekend despite the forecast for rain tomorrow.
