Georgian Spirit is Sold

Yesterday, I went to Midland while MY Jane took Ted to the hairdresser. I went there to me potential boat buyers from London. Before I left, I put a couple of copies of a blank boat purchase agreement in the car, “just in case”, as I said to Jane.

I had an idea these people were serious about buying a boat because they had sold their other boat last Fall and they were driving all the way from London.
We met at Bay Port Yachting Centre at the appointed time. Dan and Shelley were accompanied by another couple, sail boaters from Grand Bend.
After a tour of Georgian Spirit which took about 1/2 an hour, we were standing on the aft deck, when Dan said they would like to make an offer. We went back and forth a few times and finally settled on a price. Dan said they would make a deposit and at that point I mentioned that I had a couple of  blank purchase forms that we could use to sign the deal. I had him read the form over with the expectation that he would want to add a couple of conditions like “satisfactory marine survey” and/or “satisfactory sea trial” but he didn’t.
We went into the Bay Port offices and I asked Doug if I could use a desk somewhere and he said I could use the Boat Brokers office. So we signed the deal. They gave me a $10,000 dollar deposit with the balance to be paid no later than May 15.

I texted Jane to say that the boat was sold and she was quite surprised. Neither one of us thought it would go so fast. It’s only been listed on Kijiji for about two weeks.
We are happy, happy!
