Now that it’s cold every day, Minnie is getting grumpier. She is really an outdoor cat but she doesn’t like the cold. MY Jane ordered another Cat Video for her. It’s a DVD that features birds and mice and fish along with an assortment of accompanying noises that has been designed especially for cats who are bored.
She really likes this video and watches and listens to it for hours. Sometimes she will fall asleep on the sofa near the TV and if you turn the video off, she wakes up and gives you a look of total disgust as if to say, “How dare you!”
She follows Jane and I around a lot too. If we play cards on the dining room table, it’s not long before she jumps up and plops herself down right between us and covers up the playing cards. Or if we go into our sitting room, she will meow until we put our feet down so she can jump up on one of the ottomans.
Even first thing in the morning, as I sit at the kitchen table doing my blog and having my coffee, she will approach and meow until I lift her up and give her a little bit of a chin scratch and pet her a little. Not too much though….she doesn’t like too much.
I also bought her some catnip, a small amount of which I sprinkle on the kitchen floor. She really like that stuff. She eats a bit then rolls around in it.
