About two weeks ago, I told MY Jane that I was going to return some mouldy bread to the nearby Macs Milk convenience store. I decided to walk over because it was a nice day. I approached the clerk, a young bearded man, and showed him the mouldy bread. I was surprised when he told me that all 19 Macs Milk stores in Barrie were having the same issue – complaints about mouldy bread. He offered to give me a replacement loaf, but I told him I no longer would buy bread there; I said I wanted my money refunded and he told me that he wasn’t allowed to do that. He said I would have to complain to Head Office. So I did.
The next day I received a phone call from the Manager of the store, a nice woman, who said all I had to do was come back to the store and she would give me my money back. The next day, I went back and got a refund.
Yesterday, I went to the same store to buy a jug of milk. The young bearded man was the clerk on duty. When I approached the cash to pay for my milk, he confronted me about my complaint regarding the mouldy bread. He claimed that he had not refused me a refund. He further stated that my complaint had caused him a lot of grief. I explained to the young man that, when I was there with the mouldy bread, I understood him to tell me that he couldn’t give me a refund. He further stated that he heard I had complained before. Now I’m beginning to get agitated. So I tell him to listen to what I’m saying…”I understood you to tell me that you could not give me a refund! Are you listening to what I’m telling you?”
Well, apparently he was not. He kept repeating that I had caused him a lot of problems and that he had not refused me a refund. I told him that he had a very poor attitude and he replied that it was me with the bad attitude. I said to him, “Maybe I should complain about what’s happened here today.” He said, “Go ahead – complain!” So I did.
Yesterday afternoon, I started the BBQ cleanup. What a job! I should really do the cleanup more frequently, but keep putting it off. Today I’m going to put the heavy BBQ grills in our self cleaning kitchen oven and and turn it to self clean. I’ve done this before and it has cleaned up the BBQ grills quite nicely. Hopefully I can finish off that little chore today.
