Coffee at Minets Point

This morning, Minnie has taken over my preferred seat in our kitchen.

Yesterday, MY Jane and I took our Tim Hortons coffee and headed for a nearby park at Minets Point in Barrie. It was a beautiful warm day and Kempenfelt Bay was very calm. We parked the car and wandered over to a picnic table at the waters edge. The panoramic view of downtown Barrie across the bay was quite impressive.

There were a lot of seagulls hanging about as there always is. They’re always on the lookout for scraps, but none were to be found.

A couple of kayakers, a frequent sight on the bay, were out for a jaunt and it was so still, you could hear their conversation as they paddled by. In fact, it was so still that, at one point, Jane and I could hear the startup music for Windows from a computer way over on the opposite shore.

Later that afternoon, Jane took her Mom, Ted, to an appointment and while she was gone, I finished caulking the crown moulding in the upstairs bathroom.

Today, we plan to pick up Ted and take her on a picnic somewhere up near Port Carling so we can get a glimpse of the Autumn colours.
